The success of DNA Strings can be attributed to many things. Some would say we have a unique style of music in an industry overrun with cover bands and copycats, others would say it’s our dynamic live performance. It could be the healthy spirit of cooperation between the members in the band or the freshness of having an instrumental band with music that’s not limited to background music. All these things may have played a role in DNA’s success, but the biggest contribution would have to be the “friends” of DNA Strings, organizations and the people behind the organizations passionately supporting the band and believing in the music.
Beyerskloof Wyne
In 1988 one of the Cape's most foremost wine makers, Beyers Truter of Kanonkop Estate formed a partnership with four ardent wine lovers in Johannesburg with one ideal in mind : To produce a wine of exceptional character.
After exploring the Cape Winelands for a suitable location they found a perfectly situated farm in the Koelenhof area within the Stellenbosch Wine of Origin region. Coincidence provided an apprpriate name. The farm's original name was Nooitgedacht, which for five generations belonged to the Beyers family before Jan Andries Beyers sold it in 1895. Beyers Truter is a direct descendent of Jan Beyers, thus making him the sitxh generation to farm this land.
This piece of land could only have one name - BEYERSKLOOF

Yamaha
Yamaha entered the DNA world with the endorsement of a Flamenco Classical guitar for Adriaan in May 2005. He is still playing on this wonderful sounding instrument, and is grateful for the oppurtunity.
In August 2006, Jacques was able to pack light for DNA's Edinburgh tour thanx to Yamaha who endorsed a Silent Steel String Acoustic guitar weighing in at almost nothing! Many thanx!

The new toys can be seen on the band's recently released live DVD, Live in Cape Town.

Recording, releasing and distributing a CD is only part of the bigger picture. There’s a lot of behind the scene work that goes into the complete package. One, very important, part of it is designing the CD cover and outlay thereof. We have been fortunate to have mused media on our team. They are responsible for the designing of our CD cover, the “DNA Strings-logo”, our posters, T-shirts, website …basically everything that bares our name.
